Blue Lake is the name of a small freshwater lake located in the Nelson Lakes National Park in the southern Alps of New Zealand. In a study conducted in 2011, the researchers of the Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research (NIWA) has pointed out that this lake could see through from the bottom to the water surface to a depth of up to 80m . Therefore, this lake is considered to be the purest in the world.
